Italian Car Day 2015

Fueled by the passion for Italian automobiles, our Principal Nick Puopolo started Italian Car Day in 2011 and Salex has been a proud sponsor of Italian Car Day since its inception. Canada’s largest gathering of Italian cars, the annual event provides a relaxed and casual environment for Italian car and motorcycle enthusiasts to meet and exhibit, while raising awareness and funds for The Safehaven Project for Community Living.

Safehaven is a local charity that supports the unique needs of families with children who have disabilities. Every year, Italian Car Day presents a cheque to Safehaven at Safehaven’s gala event, totaling the amount collected from its fundraising efforts.

On August 8, the fifth annual Italian Car Day was hosted at Boyd Conservation Park in Vaughan. One of the highlights of the day was the generous donation of a 2015 Fiat 500, courtesy of Peel Chrysler Fiat. Spectators were able to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win the car and ticket sales continued until Safehaven’s annual gala, which took place on November 6.

Leading up to this year’s gala, Italian Car Day raised a spectacular $40,000 from the sale of raffle tickets, vehicle registration and event merchandise. Additional raffle tickets were sold at the gala, bringing the grand total raised to $50,000!

Over the past five years, Italian Car Day has raised over $200,000 for The Safehaven Project for Community Living. With your support, we will continue to help this wonderful organization provide their life changing services to children in need.

Thank you to everyone involved for another successful Italian Car Day and we hope to see you in 2016!
