Salex collaborated with Dawn Brown of OALD (Formerly EXP Hamilton), and Montgomery Sisam on the Seniors Health & Wellness Village at Peel Manor, a next-generation long-term care facility designed to foster independence, dignity, and community. The project replaces the original Peel Manor building with a vibrant, human-centred campus that includes residential households, shared amenities, and beautifully landscaped courtyards.

Lighting was a key element in creating a comfortable, human-centred environment. Salex supplied Axis Lighting fixtures, including BEAM 3 LED Perimeter, BEAM 3 LED Recessed, Graze Perfekt, and SkyeView 2×2, all integrated with BIOS Circadian Lighting Technology to support residents’ natural sleep–wake cycles and overall health.

In public and communal areas, lighting provides bright, high-quality illumination with excellent colour rendering to encourage social interaction and alertness during the day. In residential areas, the lighting transitions to a softer, warmer quality to create a calm and familiar atmosphere.

The Seniors Health & Wellness Village at Peel Manor demonstrates how thoughtful lighting design can enhance quality of life and wellbeing. By combining advanced circadian lighting technology with architectural precision, the project delivers a nurturing and visually cohesive environment where residents, visitors, and staff feel comfortable and connected.
