On Thursday, September 17th, Salex celebrated the 10th Light Up Your Life, welcoming around 400 guests to the Palais Royale in Toronto. This milestone year was a blast, bringing together clients, industry partners, and friends for an evening of new products, great entertainment, and plenty of memorable moments.
A Milestone Year for LUYL
This year marked an exciting first for Light Up Your Life as we expanded the show beyond lighting and controls to include non-lighting electrical solutions for the first time.
CMP Products, Powell Industries, and RVE joined the LUYL floor, giving guests the opportunity to explore more of Salex’s growing electrical offering alongside the lighting brands that have been part of the event over the years.
With 22 partners showcasing their latest products and solutions, there was plenty to discover throughout the evening:
Aaline, Above All Lighting, Artemide, Axis, Elite, CMP Products, Insight, Legrand/Wattstopper, Lightheaded, Lumenwerx, Lumacell, Luminii/Senso, Meteor, OCL, Omnify, Onlight, Powell Industries, RVE, Signify, Structura, Viscor, and Zaneen.
A Night Full of Entertainment
Beyond the displays, there was plenty happening throughout the Palais Royale. DJ Mr Akil returned for another year, Jay Smooth brought the saxophone, a gelato cart kept things sweet, and an aerialist made an unforgettable entrance while pouring champagne for guests.
From exploring new products to catching up with familiar faces, the night was full of energy and a great way to celebrate our 10th event.
Celebrating Our Community
This year’s grand prize went to Geoff Bayne from the City of Mississauga, who won a full day of relaxation for two at Thermea Spa Village Whitby. Geoff also took home a Legrand cooler bag filled with SWAG, making him our two-time winner of the night!

Ten events in, LUYL continues to grow and evolve, and this year was an exciting example of that. From welcoming non-lighting electrical partners for the first time to celebrating with around 400 guests, it was a milestone night and an absolute blast.
