Now in its 11th year, Night at the Races hit the ground running on the evening of May 31st with over 180 attendees gathering at Woodbine racetrack. The excitement was palpable amongst guests as they watched the horses gallop, engaged in networking amongst top lighting, design and architectural professionals, and most importantly, raised funds for causes that are close to our hearts.
In support of Smiles of Innocence, an organization dedicated to aiding the SickKids Foundation, attendees enjoyed a night of mingling, cocktails, horseracing, and most importantly, philanthropy. Guests were also invited to take part in a buzzing trade show onsite, which featured 14 of our valued vendors, including: Selux, Liteline, Delta Light, Viso, Erco, and Artemide. Each vendor generously donated either a prize, or cash equivalent, in keeping with the spirit of the evening’s fundraising efforts.
In total, we are proud to have raised $10,000 from this year’s event, which is being matched by both the Salex team and personally by Salex Principal Nick Puopolo, to total $30,000! To date, our Night at the Races event has cumulatively raised $300,000, which directly benefits the families of children subject to extensive healthcare costs, as well as support for research, equipment, and clinical scientists.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the 2017 edition of Night at the Races, contributing to its success. We are so proud that together, we were able to raise enough funds to make a tangible difference in our community.
