Salex Proudly Sponsors KPMB at CANstruction Toronto 2025

We are proud to share that Salex is once again supporting meaningful design for a greater cause—this time through our sponsorship of KPMB Architects at CANstruction Toronto 2025.

Now in its 23rd year, CANstruction Toronto brings together professionals and students from the architecture, engineering, and design industries in a unique competition that addresses food insecurity through creativity. Teams design and build large-scale sculptures entirely out of canned food, which are later donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank, the GTA’s largest provider of food relief.

This year’s installation by KPMB, titled “Can We Bear It?”, is a powerful tribute to the Canadian polar bear—a symbol of resilience. The sculpture draws attention to the interconnected issues of climate change, wildlife conservation, and food insecurity. Designed with inspiration from Indigenous artist Jason Carter, the bear is built using tuna cans to reflect the shimmer of Arctic fur, surrounded by blue tones that echo the beauty and fragility of melting sea ice.

We’re honoured to support this important initiative and the incredible team at KPMB, who continue to use their talents to raise awareness and drive change.
