Salex supported Ombrages and Gensler on the exterior lighting design for 33 Yonge Street, delivering a cohesive lighting strategy that enhances the building’s architectural presence and street-level experience after dark.
A defining element of the project is the use of Luminii Kendo Recessed Wet, which wraps the building in a continuous line of light. These fixtures were fully potted with modified end caps and customized mounting to integrate seamlessly with the façade.
Supporting layers of illumination include Lumenwerx Aera 4 recessed downlights, Via 2 Seal recessed fixtures, and Aera 3 cylinders for functional and architectural lighting. Luminii Kurba and Trident Recessed Outdoor fixtures provide accent lighting, while Zaneen Micro fixtures enhance wayfinding and highlight landscape architectural features. The result is a refined and unified nighttime identity for 33 Yonge Street that balances architectural emphasis, functionality, and visual continuity within Toronto’s urban streetscape.
