Salex collaborated with H.H. Angus & Associates Ltd. and Superkül to support the lighting redesign for the CN Tower Lower Observation Level. Designed to enhance both the interior and exterior observation areas, the project focused on creating a modern visitor experience while preserving the iconic character of one of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks.
Throughout the observation level Lightheaded LED Pipes were incorporated as part of the architectural lighting strategy across the renovated interior and exterior spaces. Colour Kinetics Burst Powercore Gen3 IntelliHue fixtures provide intelligent white and colour light, supporting the project’s colour-changing LED ceiling lighting and contributing to the Tower’s signature exterior glow. Luminii’s Kurba Medium Dome LED Strip further complemented the lighting design, balancing performance with aesthetics throughout the space.
The completed project demonstrates how thoughtful architectural lighting can elevate one of Canada’s most celebrated destinations. In recognition of the collaborative effort between the design team and project partners, the renovation has already received a Toronto IES Section Award.
