For more than five decades, Burlington Mall has been a community fixture and shopping destination. Recently, Salex was enlisted by engineering firm Hammerschlag & Joffe and Pappas Design Studio, recommending lighting that could modernize the design of the mall’s façade to help the centre upgrade to an exceptional visitor experience.
The goal of this project was not just to create a distinct entrance for the mall’s consumers, but also to come up with solutions on how to complement the ambience of the shopping centre, while cultivating a one-of-a-kind and more modern shopping experience.
For this project execution, attention was focused on coordinating the location of the break in gravitational lensing with the height of the canopy structure. Based on conceptual design renderings, Lumca’s LUUMA series was used to create tall linear luminous element to clearly identify the entrances of the shopping mall. Particular attention was paid to coordinate the location of the break in lensing with the height of the canopy structure. The elegant and sleek design of the LUUMA family of LED outdooring lighting solutions helped create a contemporary atmosphere for this space, and bring beauty to the bottom line. The LUUMA are highly efficient, often achieving energy savings up to 70%.
