Kainos, a leading tech company from Belfast, is expanding into Canada with a new head office in Toronto. Partnering with Britacan and Mulvey Engineering, we transformed the office space, using lighting to bring the vision to life. Inspired by Northern Ireland’s lush landscapes and Belfast’s vibrant streetscapes, the design team sought to reflect these elements throughout the space.

In the breakout area, Liteline Flex track was selected for general lighting, offering the flexibility to highlight key elements within the space. Liteline Sigma was installed to illuminate the countertop. Lumenwerx Aera surface-mounted cylinders were integrated into the featured ceilings along the corridors. In the collaboration area, which includes seating and a ping pong table, Axis Stencilflex was used to create visual interest, with its acoustic properties being essential for the open ceiling design. The Lumenwerx cylinders and Axis Stencilflex were also utilized in the kitchen and multi-use areas, chosen for their superior light quality and ease of installation. The result is a sleek, modern environment that invites both staff and clients into the space.
